Local Government Business Assembly – Postponement by one Week to 21 Nov
As we continue to prepare for subject event, more public sector stakeholders are showing interest in the platform.
As a consequence, the Ministry of Local Government and Community Affairs has requested a postponement of the inaugural session to enable more ministries to participate and consequently enhance the ability of the platform to provide concrete solutions to the business environment challenges faced by the private sector
As a consequence the Ministry of Commerce and Ministry of Wealth Creation & Employment will be represented at the event.
In view of the stakeholder forum organized by the Ministry of Finance to harmonise taxes, rates and levies in order to reduce the issues of multiple taxation, we also intend to invite them to the inaugural session
As previously advised, the objectives of the forum are:
* Promote better understanding of the issues of concern to both parties
* Suggest initiatives that will enhance the business environment and promote business growth and prosperity
* Streamline the process for collection of rates and levies to minimise uncertainty about private sector obligations, eliminate business disruption and ensure that payment from the private sector gets to the treasury of the government
* Any other issues that provide room for public-private partnership to promote community development and business growth and opportunities
The new date is Monday, 21 November 2016 at the same venue which is Alimosho Local Government Secretariat, 3 Bada Street, Williams Layout, Akowonjo Round-About, Akowonjo, Lagos.
